The founding Conference at which G20 was inaugurated succeeded in bringing together a carefully selected group of respected, innovative and forward looking leaders of independent educational institutions from different parts of the World. The Conference took place on 2-5 April 2017 at the University of Buckingham under the title “G20: Presidential Leadership Looking Forward”.
Having in mind the most pressing global issues, the gathered leaders of prestigious educational institutions worked together in order to examine what kinds of learning outcomes they should aspire to achieve with their graduates over the next decade. This was a unique opportunity to engage some of the leading British, European and American thinkers on higher education and to encourage developing lasting relations between them.
The Conference itself was designed in a way to provide all participants with genuine opportunities to engage, share their knowledge and experience and to learn from each other. The idea was to gather a group of leaders within higher education and more publicly as leading voices who are redefining issues in ways that open up new and exciting possibilities. They are leading those institutions that are creating a change in education, rather than being shaped by external trends. Each of them has founded a way to harness the emerging external trends and drive the institution forward in ways that have gained the attention of others. The leaders of chosen universities are scheduled to meet annually.
Our esteemed Rector and Chancellor, who is also the founder of the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST), academician Ejup Ganić was honored by the invitation to take part in the Conference and give his contribution to this gathering of esteemed representatives of higher education.
We are all proud that SSST became a member of prestigious G20 group!
