Ariana Kavazović - The George Washington Universitry Milken Institute School of Public Health
Ariana Kavazović, a Bosnian living in the States, has been visiting her home country and actively participating in clinical rotations for sixth-year students of Sarajevo Medical School for the Epidemiology course taught by professor Sanjin Musa. Ariana has studied biology at the Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently on Masters of Public Health student with a major in epidemiology at The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health, scheduled to complete in May. Her research interests are focused on infectious disease, immunisation and making vaccines available to marginalized groups. She has been involved with Dr. Musa on several COVID-19 projects.
„Zoom lecture with SSST students has been a great experience for me. We have been discussing public health issues as well as the current COVID-19 situation in the States. I've received a lot of interesting questions from students. I also believe that one of the good things about this pandemic is the creative ways in which we connect and collaborate with people all around the world; never have I thought that I will be speaking to a group of students from Sarajevo while being miles away. The reason for which I have opted for a career in public health was my interest in public health issues on the Balkans, and this meeting hit a bullseye.“
A big thank you to dr. Musa for organizing the event and including our guest from America!
