Call for Applications: EUMIG-BiH International Summer School 2026
Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) announces the opening of applications for the EUMIG-BiH International Summer School 2026, titled “Balkan Crossroads: Navigating EU Migration Standards,” which will take place from 15 to 19 June 2026 in Sarajevo.
The Summer School is organised within the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module EUMIG-BiH (Migration, Integration and Governance in Bosnia and Herzegovina – EU Standards and Local Challenges), co-funded by the European Union. The programme is designed as a five-day intensive academic and practice-oriented experience focused on contemporary migration governance, European Union policy frameworks, and regional perspectives in South-East Europe. Bringing together students, researchers, and professionals from diverse backgrounds, the Summer School will address key issues related to migration governance, including legal and policy frameworks, EU integration processes, and current developments such as the New Pact on Migration and Asylum.
The programme combines expert lectures, interactive workshops, and field visits to relevant institutions, offering participants both theoretical knowledge and practical insights. The initiative aims to strengthen understanding of migration processes, promote evidence-based discussion, and support the development of analytical and professional skills in the field of migration and EU studies. Special emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary approaches and the connection between academic research and real-world policy challenges.
The Summer School is open to undergraduate and graduate students, young professionals, and early-career practitioners in fields such as social sciences, law, economics, international relations, and related disciplines, as well as to individuals working in public institutions, civil society, and media who are engaged with migration and European integration topics. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a certificate of completion, based on active participation, attendance, and submission of a short reflection paper. The application deadline is 24 May 2026, and the number of participants is limited.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV and a brief motivation letter via email to eumig-bih@ssst.edu.ba. Additional information about the programme and application process is available at www.eumig-bih.com. The programme will be delivered in English and will take place at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology. Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation, travel, and health insurance. The EUMIG-BiH project represents a significant contribution to strengthening academic excellence and policy-oriented knowledge in migration studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while fostering dialogue between academia, institutions, and society in line with European standards. Co-funded by the European Union.
