Inspiring Exchange and Innovation: SSST Welcomes UCLL and Showcases DELTA Project

On June 11th, 2025, the University SSST had the great pleasure of welcoming representatives from University Colleges Leuven-Limburg (UCLL), Belgium – Ms. Griet Barrazeele, Lecturer and International Officer, and Mr. Steven Engels, Program Manager at the Department of Applied Computer Science. The visit marked a dynamic exchange of ideas, with both institutions expressing strong enthusiasm for future collaboration.

The agenda included presentations of ongoing international initiatives, research directions, and industry cooperation on both sides, as well as discussions around joint curriculum development, mobility opportunities, and academic alignment in the field of Applied Computer Science. The UCLL team also had the opportunity to tour the SSST campus, meet faculty members, and experience the energy and ambition driving SSST’s academic vision.

A highlight of the visit was SSST’s presentation of the Erasmus+ project DELTA – Advancing Data Literacy and Innovation in the Western Balkans, where SSST is proud to be one of the core project partners. The project aims to strengthen data literacy across the region and promote innovation in teaching and learning. In an era shaped by rapid digital transformation, DELTA is focused on equipping learners with the skills needed to understand, analyze, and apply data in meaningful ways – ensuring readiness for the future of work in the EU and beyond.

As part of the project’s dissemination activities, DELTA was also featured at the HMI2MARKET National-level Foresight Workshop, which took place the following day, June 12th. The workshop gathered national and regional partners to explore possible future scenarios for 2035, with a focus on the evolution of higher education, labor markets, emerging technologies, and societal change. The presentation of DELTA further emphasized the project’s relevance in shaping modern, resilient education systems.
