In the 2014/2015 academic year the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology introduced a new twelve-semester (six-year) Medical Doctor Study Programme in English. Graduates receive a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD).
Becoming regionally competitive from the outset, the SSST Department of Medicine boasts cutting-edge laboratories, equipment and software lacking in public (state) medical universities, coupled with highly accomplished and qualified professors and instructors.
Its outstanding performance as SSST’s fastest growing department, led to the expansion of the Sarajevo Medical School to now Include the Department of Dentistry, Department of Pharmacy and the Health Study Department, all offering full degree programs.
Students complete the clinical portion of their training at the Clinical Centre of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), the city’s main hospital, while SSST holds additional contracts and agreements with a number of supplementary clinics, hospitals and emergency services in the country. Students are trained not only in the science of preventing, diagnosing and treating disease, but also in effective communication with patients. From the earliest days of their medical school career, students being face-to- face work in medical settings.
The curriculum of Sarajevo Medical School Departments follows the world’s latest trends in science and research, competing with Europe’s most prestigious medical schools in both staff qualifications and technologies used in teaching. Our aim is to prepare graduates to excel in the dynamic world of modern medicine, competing at a global level.
