5th Symposium of the Ian Donald School of Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics
It is our great honor and pleasure to invite you to participate in the 5th Symposium of the Ian Donald School of Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics, which will be held on December 5–6, 2025, at the SSST University in Sarajevo.
This important professional event is organized as part of the global network of the Ian Donald Inter-University School of Medical Ultrasound, founded by Academician Prof. Dr. Asim Kurjak in 1981 during the 4th European Congress of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology held in Dubrovnik.
During that congress, a group of international experts and enthusiasts established an advanced course named after the pioneer of ultrasound diagnostics, Professor Ian Donald, with the aim of promoting education and international collaboration in the field of ultrasound.
Since then, the Ian Donald School has continuously organized educational courses and symposia around the world, and today it is an integral part of the SSST University in Sarajevo.
Traditionally, this symposium brings together distinguished lecturers and participants from both the country and abroad, who will, through lectures, workshops, and discussions, share their latest experiences and achievements in the field of ultrasound in perinatal medicine.
The symposium program will be structured in two parts over two days:
- Friday, December 5, 2025 – dedicated to the theoretical part and fundamentals of ultrasound diagnostics in gynecology and obstetrics.
- Saturday, December 6, 2025 – reserved for lectures and a practical “Hands-on” course on modern Mindray ultrasound devices, where participants will have the opportunity to work under expert mentorship and apply the latest diagnostic techniques in practice.
