EUMIG-BiH: Jean Monnet Module on European Migrations and Bosnia and Herzegovina

The University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) proudly announces the launch of a three-year Jean Monnet Module titled “European Union Migration Policy and Bosnia and Herzegovina – EUMIG-BiH,” implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The module connects academic expertise with practical engagement, exploring the links between European migration and asylum policies and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration process.

Implemented at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, this three-year module brings together academic expertise and practical engagement to examine the intersections between EU migration and asylum policies and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration process.

Over the course of the project, EUMIG-BiH will serve as an innovative platform for research, teaching, and field-based learning, focusing on key themes such as migration governance, policy harmonization with EU standards, and community-level awareness of migration-related challenges.

Grounded in SSST’s strong tradition of European studies and interdisciplinary research, the module seeks to foster dialogue and collaboration among students, academics, policymakers, civil society representatives, and media professionals. Its goal is to promote an inclusive and evidence-based understanding of migration within the broader context of the Western Balkans and EU integration.

The project’s academic coordination reflects SSST’s continued commitment to excellence in EU-related teaching and to bridging local academic practice with European and global discourses. Preparations are currently underway for the Opening Conference in December 2025, followed by the start of teaching activities in the upcoming semester.
