University SSST Professor Dr. Dževada Garić Awarded Prestigious French Government Scholarship

University SSST proudly announces that Professor Dr. Dževada Garić has been awarded the prestigious Bourse d’excellence scholarship by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, granted upon the recommendation of the French Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This recognition will enable her to pursue a year-long research stay at the University of Strasbourg, one of Europe’s leading academic institutions.

During the 2025/2026 academic year, Dr. Garić will join the MISHA Institute (Maison interuniversitaire des sciences de l’Homme) at the University of Strasbourg as a visiting scholar. Her research will focus on international relations, religion, and contemporary social processes in Europe.

Strasbourg’s unique position as the seat of major European institutions — including the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, and the European Court of Human Rights — provides an exceptional environment for advanced research, collaboration, and professional networking. This international academic setting will enable Dr. Garić to strengthen ties with experts, departments, and institutions across Europe.

During her stay, Dr. Garić will engage with representatives of the Council of Europe and the European Parliament to enhance academic and institutional cooperation. She will also collaborate with the Bosniak Islamic Community in France and the Muftiate for Western Europe, further contributing to intercultural and interinstitutional dialogue.

This achievement represents a significant milestone in Dr. Garić’s scholarly career and acknowledges her long-standing academic and professional contributions.
