Partnering with Prime Time, one of the most successful independent game production and film animation studios in this part of Europe – producing games for, among other, Sony Play Station, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Xbox; our program is merging academic excellence with real industry experience.
Jointly created by our Department of Computer Science and the Sarajevo Film Academy, the three-year program results in both an SSST degree and a degree from the University of Buckingham (United Kingdom).
Far beyond a study in programming, Game Design and Development at SSST offers courses in digital animation, 2D/3D modelling, directing, storytelling, editing, cinematography for games, and other. First in the region, SSST is offering a unique, globally competitive program in gaming, utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach that meets both the technical and the artistic challenges of this fast-paced industry.
Throughout the course of the program, students experience learning that fosters creativity and seeks to inspire through understanding writing, psychology of characters, body movement and much more, interlaced with algorithms, applied programming and computer graphics – all towards a singular goal: the creation of a unique world, where imagination and technical skill create a final, competitive product.
SSST’s Game Design and Development Program is characterized by the singular opportunity for students to connect and work with experienced game designers and developers, as well as industry experts. Students benefit not only from practical and pragmatic learning, but also networking and ability to showcase their work (portfolio) throughout the program.
The students’ artistic and technical skills are tested against the real industry environment, allowing them to fine-tune their knowledge and abilities.
Through an internship in their final year, students gain real career experience and introduction to current practices and the working environment of a gaming studio. This prepares our students to secure their first job while still in the program.
