Check out some of the inspiring summer activities of our Layla Jusko, a Political Science and International Relations student!
Although just warming up for the second year of her studies, Layla has already accomplished so much: she is a dedicated volunteer for the EUPHAM project, spearheaded by her department; for some years she has been also working within the Red Cross Society of Bosnia-Herzegovina, assuming a more responsible volunteering role within migrant and refugee centers across the country.
This summer, she applied for and won the EUSAIR Academy Youth Contest with the idea of connecting young people from the country through sustainable development and environmental protection. As a young representative from BiH, she was given a chance to visit Brussels and work closely within the EU Commission network.
The activity, financed by the European Commission, aims at involving and stimulating the participation of young people in EU activities by developing their understanding and awareness of the EU policy-making process, with a specific focus on the EUSAIR, European Union Strategy for Adriatic and Ionian Region.
Her summer might not be typical, but is was certainly motivating. Kudos to Layla!
