MedReCon 2025: Around 200 Participants and an Innovative Hackathon with Concrete Solutions for Healthcare in BiH
MedReCon 2025 has concluded — a three-day multidisciplinary conference that once again brought together students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and information technology from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirming its status as the most important student event in the healthcare sector in the country.
During the three days, around 200 participants had the opportunity to take part in inspiring panel discussions, educational workshops, MEDTalks sessions, student presentations, and the popular hackathon, which gathered young innovators ready to tackle contemporary challenges in healthcare all in one place.
“With pride, I can say that this has been the most successful MedReCon conference to date. My team and I gave our absolute best to bring some of the greatest experts from BiH and the region, and I can proudly say that we fully succeeded,” said Dalila Čamdžić, Chairwoman of the Organizing Committee.
She also emphasized that it was especially significant that participants came from all universities in BiH educating professionals in the healthcare and IT sectors, which further enriched the program and opened space for knowledge exchange among future colleagues.
“This conference was not just another academic event — it was a dream come true. We managed to unite students from different fields, encourage collaboration among them, and create a space for joint growth,” Čamdžić added.
The conference program also included engaging activities such as games, art workshops, and lectures on healthy lifestyles, longer and better quality of life, as well as modern healthcare technologies. Special attention was drawn to talks by top experts in genetics, medicine, IT, and the healthcare of the future.
One of the most dynamic segments was the hackathon, where young students, working in teams, designed concrete digital solutions to improve the healthcare system in BiH. The winning teams were awarded at the conference’s closing ceremony, along with recognitions for the best student abstract and presentation.
“I am personally proud of every participant and every member of the organization who was part of this story. Together, we have sparked a revolution in how we think about healthcare in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because we, the youth, are the future, and with the skills, knowledge, and connections that MedReCon provided, I truly believe we will be the generation to bring change and work wonders in this country,” Čamdžić concluded.
MedReCon 2025 once again demonstrated that among young people in BiH there is enormous energy, knowledge, and will for change, and the organizers have already announced new ideas and an even stronger program for next year.
