The third session of Ambassador Talks series was held at the University SSST on Thursday, 28th February. Our guest was H.E. Ambassador of France to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Guillaume Rousson. Because of his previous engagements at the Balkan region, Ambassador Rousson already knows the political situation very well and was extremely glad to be with our PSIR, ECON and Business students. In his introductory note, the Ambassador pointed out the significance of strengthening the business relations between France and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as they could be developed to much greater effect and the role of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the region's stability. One of his key points was also the role of diplomatic missions in general – how much can they really in a foreign country and what are the limits of diplomatic engagement when it comes to internal affairs of the country they are serving in. Students were very interested to know how does the Embassy engage in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Ambassador pointed out that the French language and culture are present in our country through cultural centres, exhibitions, concerts, plays etc. and the Embassy is always fond of such affirmative projects that include young people, especially students, who are eager to learn one of the world's most influential languages.
This session was moderated by PSIR's Dean, professor Maja Savic-Bojanic along with other professors form ECON and Business Department, as well as the Chancellor of the University, prof. Dr. Ejup Ganic. The series will continue to engage students while giving them a rare opportunity to discuss politics and economics with the highest government officials. The next session is scheduled for 21st March when we will have the honour to meet H.E. Ambassador of Great Britain, Matthew Field.
