International Collaboration

Mission Statement

SSST cherishes international environment and we therefore target to stimulate the global orientation of all our students and staff members.

Students and staff at SSST are offered maximum opportunities for acquiring international learning/teaching experiences. We pursue an active policy of international collaboration which aims to promote student exchanges, foster an open global vision, develop international learning/teaching components and attract talented students from abroad.

In addition, SSST puts a strong focus on conducting creative and innovative scientific research that strives for international excellence. We encourage our researchers to seek out international collaboration and to play active roles in the worldwide research community by means of scientific publications and research projects.

Erasmus +

Incoming Student/Staff

STEP 1: You are eligible to apply only your home institution and SSST have a signed interinstitutional agreement.
Students or staff interested in doing an Erasmus+ for studies/teaching/training at the University SSST must apply via their home university.

STEP 2: In order to be considered a candidate the official nomination by the sending institution is mandatory. Nomination is a document sent via email confirming that the student/staff was selected by the institution to carry out a study/teaching/training period at SSST. Applications without previously delivered correspondent nomination will not be considered.

Applying through mobility programs such as Erasmus+, students can apply for the period of 1-2 semesters, while staff can apply for 5-60 days. Duration is usually determined in the mobility program call.

Important dates:

Winter semester (October – February)

         
  • Nomination sent by 31st May
  • Application documents sent by incoming student/staff by 15th June
 
Summer semester (February – July)
 
  • Nomination sent by 30th November
  • Application documents sent by incoming student/staff by 15th December


Final Exams are held at the end of each semester with a mandatory Study Week period held prior to their beginning. Staff mobility dates must be approved by the sending and hosting institution for both students and staff.

MANDATORY DOCUMENTATION
 

The following documentation is required for the official application process to be finalized from the side of the incoming student/staff:

STUDENTS
 

  1. Learning Agreement (stamped and signed by the sending institution and a student/staff)
  2. Official grade transcripts
  3. Proof of English language proficiency
  4. CV
 

STAFF
 

  1. Mobility agreement for teaching or training
  2. CV

RESULTS
After your official nomination and application, we will forward your profile with documents to the host department at the University SSST. We expect to have their decision in two weeks from the day you applied. Finally, if the application is approved by the hosting department we will send you confirmation (below).

ACCEPTANCE CONFIRMATION

Documents that prove the acceptance of the students at SSST:
 
  • Acceptance letter – sent via email by SSST. Only if required, SSST can issue a hard copy of the letter for the purposes of travel visa acquiring
  • Learning/Mobility Agreement signed and stamped by SSST
 

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

For the semester at SSST you will need to provide:
 

  1. Original Transcripts from your University
  2. Copy of your passport
  3. 1 photo
  4. Semester Application form (can be found at our Bookstore, free of charge)
  5. Proof of valid health insurance during the stay at SSST
 

Note: More information about travel, visa, residency permit, accommodation option can be obtained from the International Collaboration and Research Office and will be stated in the Welcome Letter that you will receive.
 

Erasmus +

Outgoing Mobility- Students/Staff

STEP 1: You are eligible to apply only if SSST has a signed interinstitutional agreement.
Please consult the International Collaboration and Research Office for more information on which institution we have a signed agreement and also if a new agreements are possible.

STEP 2: Before you make a decision to apply please consult your Academic Adviser and/or your Dean to verify that student/staff exchange will not interfere with your academic obligations at SSST.

STEP 3: Look at the academic programmes at receiving institution in order to see if there are suitable courses there that could later be transferred to SSST.

STEP 4: For the internal application please provide:
 

  • Motivation Letter
  • CV
  • Official Transcripts (students only)

STEP 5: SSST will deliberate on your approval for the exchange.
In case of a positive answer, you Nomination (by SSST) will be sent to the receiving institution.
Please keep in mind that the deadline for nomination/application is determined by the receiving institution.
Soon after, you will be notified about the final decision by the receiving institution.
