The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Chair in Peace and International Studies
Professors of Department of Political Science and International Relations do research and teaching in the related fields of the Chair. Prof. Zlatko Hadzidedic is currently the coordinator of the Chair.
Students of the third and the fourth year of studies as well as graduate programme students are also involved in research and seminars covered by the endowment of the Chair.
Ali A. Aljaffali Chair in Physiology and Medical Biology
Professors of Medical School do research and teaching in the related fields of the Chair.
Students of senior years of studies are also involved in research and projects covered by the endowment of the Chair. Prof. Mirza Ibrišimović is currently the professor of the Ali A. Aljaffali Chair in Physiology and Medical Biology.
Professorships
Mahathir Professorship
Mahathir professorship is a tribute to work of former Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohamad Mahathir in the field of economic progress of Malaysia and beyond. Dr. Amer Demirovic is currently the Mahathir Professor of Economics at SSST.
The Christian Schwarz-Schilling Professorship in International Relations and Political Science
The Christian Schwarz-Schilling Professorship in International Relations and Political Science will launch with the start of the 2020/21 Academic Year, with Professor Adnan Huskic, a prominent political analyst and lecturer at the SSST’s Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, taking the helm as the first professor selected to lead the Professorship from October 1st 2020. The Professorship will be open to domestic and international academicians alike.
Alwaleed Professorship
Alwaleed professorship is based on the achievements in business development of His Royal Highness Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal bin Abdulaziz al Saud. Prof. Vjekoslav Domljan is currently the Alwaleed Professor of Economics at SSST.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Chair in International Humanitarian Law
The Chair is envisaged as an academic platform for teaching and research, founded as a lasting tribute to the work and outstanding international contribution of the late Amir to humanitarian action, mediation, and conflict resolution.
The Coordinating Professor at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Chair in International Humanitarian Law is the Dean of Political Science and International Relations, Dr. Maja Savić Bojanić.
