Again this year, University SSST and the Political Sciences and International Relations Department had the chance to welcome one of the most prestigious historians in the region, the Honorary Dean of PSIR Department and Professor Emeritus from the Yale University, prof. dr. Ivo Banac. Only the best PSIR students have participated to the four-day seminar called “Geopolitics” (from 8th to 11th of April), focusing on Berlin Congress, Cold War, the age of totalitarian and fascist ideologies, as well as the geopolitical context of the Balkans. Professor Banac, through the analytical approach to the historical circumstances of the 20th and 21st century, has been discussing with students on changes of ideologies, political systems and specifications of one’s geographical area which led to turbulent times of the 20th century.
All participants had the unique opportunity to get a wider scope on the subject initially included in the curriculum, but acquire participation certificates for this unique seminar as well.
As it is our common practice, we aim to provide to our students additional education and guest lectures by top professors from world-renowned universities and to ensure a one-of-a-kind supplement to their regular education.
