The postgraduate studies at SSST are designed to enrich and enhance the academic experience for students who have completed the first cycle of studies at SSST and go on to master studies by offering a first-class opportunity to become experts in their desired field. Regardless of whether you plan to continue your career in industry, government or non-governmental sector or in the academic community, SSST prepares you for all the challenges that will stand in your path.
The Master program in Diplomacy is designed to offer students both practical and theoretical knowledge of international diplomacy, and knowledge of the roles diplomats have in promoting the interests of their governments. Accordingly, the Diplomacy program at the University SSST offers courses including segments on the creation of foreign policy and the strength that leads it, the history of diplomacy, public diplomacy, EU diplomacy, diplomatic negotiations as well as diplomatic praxis.
During the studies, emphasis is placed on practical elements of foreign policy, on the manner of its implementation, and the roles of individuals and institutions that perform these functions. Within that context, students will often run simulations of real-life situations such as those induced by diplomats and policy creators. In addition, all courses will help students to hone their writing and presentation skills and critical thinking, which are all key components of diplomatic praxis.
The program is open to students who have completed the first cycle of studies in political science and international relations, humanities, law, language, and economics.
Students attending this program will acquire the necessary skills to work in state institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, national and international agencies and missions, foreign representative offices, joint commissions and expert agencies of the European Union, as well as export companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
