A screening of the omnibus "What does BiH mean to you?" and a panel discussion with the authors of the film was held last week at the University of Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (University SSST).
The film "What does BiH mean to you?" is the result of the eponymous project of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Foundation, Country Office in BiH, which this year is being implemented in cooperation with the University SSST and with the aim of supporting and helping to achieve a greater degree of inclusion of women in the field of culture and film art. This exciting project gave a platform to young female directors to make a short film about their unique experiences and views on society and the time in which we live. Overall, the aim of the project is to draw attention to the opinions of young people in BiH and open a dialogue on the future of this country.
A young woman caught between love and an opportunity to study abroad; one lost wallet and a chance encounter that opens the possibility of reconciling the past and the present; two friends facing diverging choices and futures; and a call that brings two strangers together: make up the four stories set against the Sarajevo skyline and told by women and of women, living in BiH today. Under the slogan "Celebrating female voices in art", four young female directors: Alma Cocaj, Rea Memić, Mirela Salihović and Sara Ristić with fellow screenwriter Emina Šehić give a unique insight into living, working, loving and striving to carve out their future in BiH.
The producers of the omnibus are Sven Petke, director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation – Country Office in Sarajevo, and Emina Ganić, director of the Sarajevo Film Academy (SFA) at University SSST. The film is produced by the Sarajevo Film Academy.
The omnibus had its world premiere at this year's edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, and already in November the film will have its German premiere at the acclaimed Cottbus Film Festival.
