SSST INNOVATION WEEK: Smart Innovations in the Treatment of Breast Cancer

Yesterday marked the beginning of SSST Innovation Week, a five-day initiative dedicated to promoting and advancing innovations in breast cancer treatments by integrating technology and medicine.

 

Professor Belma Ramić-Brkić, the coordinator of DIH its4Health, delivered the opening speech. Subsequently, Dr.  Enis Hasanović, the Minister of Health of the Canton of Sarajevo, and Dr. Anes Jogunčić, representing the Public Health Institute of the Canton of Sarajevo, addressed the attendees.

 

The initial segment of the program was followed by a panel discussion on the use of innovative technology in the detection and treatment of breast cancer. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Aida Hajdarpašić from the University SSST, the panel featured participants such as Prof. Dr. Aida Pilav, Faik Ćatibušić, and Doc. Dr. Faruk Skenederi from UniMed Polyclinics.

 

Dr. Lejla Hadžikadić-Gušić, from Levine Cancer Carolinas Health Care System, joined us online to share insights into approaches to breast cancer treatment.

 

The first day concluded with a lecture by Nela Hasić, founder and executive director of Think Pink – Together we are one. She spoke about social and corporate responsibility, as well as the support from higher levels of government.

 

The closing speech was delivered by Edis Arifagić – SSST, emphasizing that students are crucial in changing consciousness, becoming decision-makers, and shaping the future.

 

SSST Innovation Week will conclude on Friday with a student Hackathon.
