First official visit of Dr. Adna Mesihović, Minister for Science, Higher Education, and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, to the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) University
An official meeting was held at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) University with the Minister for Science, Higher Education, and Youth of the Sarajevo Canton, Dr. Adna Mesihović, who, together with her associates Azemina Njuhović, assistant minister in the science sector, and Dženita Viteškić, assistant for higher education, held a meeting with the president of SSST University, Academician Ejup Ganić, SSST University Rector Dr. Vjekoslav Domljan, Executive Director Dr. Emir Ganić, Director of the Office for International Cooperation and Projects Edis Arifagić, and Lejla Abdurahmanović, SSST University legal counsel. This meeting marks one of the first in a series of visits by the newly elected Minister to private and state universities, with the aim of establishing a foundation for good cooperation and getting acquainted with the achievements to date and the work plan.
Academician Ganić presented SSST University, highlighting its program capacities, scientific research potential, and exceptional readiness for cooperation and future cooperation between the Ministry and the University on a number of projects were discussed. Ideas and projects such as the future law on higher education, initiation of a scientific and academic summit where professors-researchers from different universities, including those from the diaspora, will have the opportunity to exchange contacts and expand their network of collaborators, as well as activities to revive student interaction and connection through joint student initiatives were considered. Academician Ganić praised the Minister's initiative for official visits to higher education institutions and expressed a desire to establish cooperation in the same spirit. Minister Mesihović promised greater engagement of the Ministry and advocacy for the development of a stronger cooperation network at the university level.
Minister Mesihović took the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Medical Faculty of SSST University, as well as the Unimed polyclinic opened within the university. She also had the opportunity to see the university's facilities and state-of-the-art equipment used for working with students and patients of the polyclinic. The meeting concluded with the exchange of contacts and planning for future meetings, with mutual satisfaction with the achievements reached.
