On Saturday, 28th September 2019 the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in cooperation with the Bosnia Bank International (BBI) held the 6th Transformers Roadshow in Sarajevo. During this science, technology and innovation competition, 15 finalists had the opportunity to pitch their ideas to the panel of prominent experts from various industries. Representing the IsDB at the panel was Dr. Hayat Sindi one of the World’s most influential medical scientists who holds a position of a Senior Advisor to the President of the bank.
Among many applications for this event, the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) had three successful teams who were chosen to be among the 15 finalists. Our Computer Science and Information Systems students lead by Haris Muharemovic were one of the youngest presenters that day.
We are happy to announce that two out of 4 winners of the evening were the University SSST professors from the Sarajevo Medical School. Dr. Aida Hajdarpašić-Saračević and her team won with a project under the title “Genomics for diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorders”. Another winner of the evening was the team lead by Dr. Anes Jogunčić, Dr. Tamara Jovović-Sadiković and Dr. Zana Tafi along with the Dean of Sarajevo Medical School Dr. Semira Galijašević with their project titled “From Lab Test to Diagnosis”.
