Educational Aims of the Module

  • Corporate responsibility is concerned with the obligations corporations have to social and non-social stakeholders and the extent of those obligations.
  • The aim of this module is analyse how businesses fulfil the economic, legal, ethical and discretionary responsibilities and at the same time address the conflicting interests of the stakeholders.
  • The concept of social responsibility is highly relevant to today’s complex business environment where companies must plan, allocate and use resources to satisfy not only shareholders, but various stakeholders, including customers, employees, the community, government, and others.
  • Students will focus on each group of primary stakeholders to understand their role, but also examine what it takes to strategically manage relationships between them.
  • By understanding new expectations that businesses face and analysing various responses to such demands, students will be better prepared to tackle them in different situations and organizations, but also to further their education in business and management.

Module Outcomes

Intended Learning Outcomes:

  • Midterm exam (ILO: 1-6)

  • Final exam (in addition to questions related to testing knowledge, this exam will include question related to the field research project) (ILO: 1-7)

  • Being able to recognize the relevant stakeholders depending on both the type of business and the circumstances and addressing their needs

  • Being able to discuss current events in business with regard to social responsibility issues

  • Being able to write academic report related to Corporate Responsibility

  • Being able to interpret and discuss the results of the research on CR of Bosnian companies
